The Star Wars Suite - The Danish National Symphony Orchestra (Live)

The Star Wars Suite - The Danish National Symphony Orchestra (Live)

On June 2017, the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) hosted three orchestral concerts called Galaxymphony which included some of the soundtrack from various space and sci-fi movies. This is their version of some of the Star Wars soundtrack across all seven movies. The concert was hosted by Jakob Stegelmann and conducted by Antony Hermus. The performance was orchestrated by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra with help from the 'Camerata' and 'Hymnia' choirs. As told in the video, the host, Jakob Stegelmann, is very passionate about the Star Wars films and therefore evidently the main event of the concert. Therefore, I have shared this extra long video (what a horror it was to render) for you to enjoy. TIMESTAMPS: [00:00] - Introduction by host Jakob Stegelmann [05:10] - Star Wars Main Title Theme [10:57] - Anakin's Theme and Love Theme [16:39] - Duel of the Fates [21:21] - Luke and Leia [27:40] - Imperial March [31:22] - Yoda's Theme [35:49] - Finale and Throne Room [45:08] - Tribute to Carrie Fisher by host Jakob Stegelmann [46:10] - Princess Leia's Theme [52:25] - End Monologue by host Jakob Stegelmann [53:06] - Encore: Cantina Band *SUBTITLES ARE AVAILABLE* Sorry for the crackling sounds, something must've happened rendering it. The original soundtrack of Star Wars was scored by John Williams. No copyright intended. All rights go to the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (Danmarks Radio).

Jean Sibelius. Concierto para Violín en Re menor, Op. 47 *Anne-Sophie Mutter

Jean Sibelius.

J.S.Bach Piano Concerto in D Minor D Minor BWV 1052 Polina Osetinskaya Anton Gakkel

J.S.Bach Piano Concerto in D Minor D Minor BWV 1052 Polina Osetinskaya Anton Gakkel

NEW AMAZING MUSIC FROM POLINA OSETINSKAYA & MAXIM NOVIKOV here https://youtu.be/BK3aTsBKj9M https://youtu.be/_h2-h831iLw J.S.Bach HARPSICHORD Concerto in D Minor BWV 1052 Polina Osetinskaya piano The Mariinsky String Orchestra / Conductor: Anton Gakkel (2015) 0:05 - 1mvt / 8:15 - 2mvt / 16:13 - 3mvt The life of pianist Polina Osetinskaya can be divided into two stages. The first – that of “wunderkind” (a word that Polina herself cannot abide) – was when Polina performed as a girl in huge halls filled with excited sensationalists. The second, which has continued to the present day, is essentially her victory over the first. It is both a reference to serious performing and to exacting audiences. Polina Osetinskaya began to perform at the age of five. At the age of seven she entered the Central School of Music of the Moscow Conservatoire. Polina gave her first concert at the age of six at the Great Hall of the Vilnius Conservatoire in Lithuania. Together with her father who accepted the role of manager, the young Polina began to undertake frequent tours throughout the former USSR to packed halls and ovations. In her own country Polina was possibly the most famous child of her time and her relationship with her father was portrayed by the mass media as some kind of soap opera after the thirteen-year-old Polina decided to leave her father and study music seriously at the school of the Leningrad Conservatoire under the acclaimed teacher Marina Wolf. Polina began to tour once again while still a student at the St Petersburg Conservatoire. (The pianist subsequently completed a postgraduate course at the Moscow Conservatoire under Professor Vera Gornostayeva.) She has appeared with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Weimar National Opera, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St Petersburg Philharmonic (Honoured Ensemble of Russia), the State Academic Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosi and the New Russia orchestra among other ensembles. Polina Osetinskaya’s onstage partners have included conductors Saulius Sondeckis, Vassily Sinaisky, Andrei Boreiko, Gerd Albrecht, Yan Pascal Tortelier and Thomas Sanderling. Polina Osetinskaya has performed at the Wallonie Festival in Brussels, the Mainly Mozart festival, the Frédéric Chopin Festival in Miami, the Stars of the White Nights festival and the December Evenings festival among numerous others. The pianist has been awarded the Maly Triumph prize. In 2008 she wrote her autobiography Farewell, Sadness, which became a bestseller. Polina Osetinskaya generally creates unusual and frequently paradoxical solo programmes. She almost always includes works by contemporary composers, frequently justaposing them with traditional classical works: “Contemporary music is not just a continuation of older music. It also helps us discover ideas and beauty in older music that have been lost over decades of the blind museum generation and mechanical and often soulless performing.” Polina Osetinskaya often performs works by post-avant-garde composers such as Valentin Silvestrov, Leonid Desyatnikov, Vladimir Martynov, Georgs Pelēcis and Pavel Karmanov. The pianist collaborates with many recording companies including Naxos, Sony Music and Bel Air.

MENDELSSOHN VIOLIN CONCERTO in E minor - KYUNG-WHA CHUNG / SOLTI

MENDELSSOHN VIOLIN CONCERTO in E minor - KYUNG-WHA CHUNG / SOLTI

Korean violinist Kyung-Wha Chung has appeared regularly as a soloist with the world's most prestigious orchestras, working with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Sir Simon Rattle, André Previn, Bernard Haitink, Riccardo Muti and the late Sir Georg Solti, as seen conducting here in this clip. Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor is surely one of the most outstanding works ever written and one of the most popular and most frequently performed violin concertos of all time. Distinctive aspects of the concerto include the almost immediate entrance of the violin at the beginning of the work (rather than following an orchestral preview of the first movement's major themes, as was typical in Classical era concertos) and as a whole, the concerto has a thoroughly composed form, in which the three movements are melodically and harmonically connected and played together without pauses between movements. The melodic structure of each movement becomes engraved in ones mind; truly the sign of a true masterpiece!
