Johann Sebastian Bach - Chaconne, Partita No. 2 BWV 1004 | Hilary Hahn

Johann Sebastian Bach - Chaconne, Partita No. 2 BWV 1004 | Hilary Hahn

Johann Sebastian Bach - Partita for solo violin Nº 2 in D minor, BWV 1004. 1720. Chaconne. Hilary Hahn, Violin, 1997. Violin Partita Nº 2, BWV 1004 http://youtu.be/6KaYzgofHjc Violin Partita Nº 3, BWV 1006 http://youtu.be/3VOkrddp6M8 Violin Sonata Nº 3, BWV 1005 http://youtu.be/Lej1nHZBMgc In 1999, Hahn said that she played Bach more than any other composer and that she had played solo Bach pieces every day since she was eight. "Bach is, for me, the touchstone that keeps my playing honest. Keeping the intonation pure in double stops, bringing out the various voices where the phrasing requires it, crossing the strings so that there are not inadvertent accents, presenting the structure in such a way that it's clear to the listener without being pedantic -- one can't fake things in Bach, and if one gets all of them to work, the music sings in the most wonderful way." — Hilary Hahn, Saint Paul Sunday In a segment on NPR entitled "Musicians in Their Own Words", Hahn speaks about the surreal experience of playing the Bach Chaconne (from the Partita for Violin No. 2) alone on the concert stage. The Partitas are generally more extended, and of unorthodox formal design (as perhaps is implied by their more wide-ranging generic title), and by the more exploratory, improvisatory feel of the music even as they consist of sequences of Baroque dances. The awesome and eloquent Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004, seems for the most part to follow the conventional outline of the Baroque suite. The concluding movement of Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004 emphasis the most labyrinthine and intellectually powerful single movement ever devised for an unaccompanied string instrument. This is Bach's famous Chaconne (originally "Ciaccona"), a colossal arched series of 64 stunning variants upon the stark, open-ended four-measure phrase heard at the beginning. Two monumental outer sections in the minor enclose a major-key central episode, and this great structure encompasses every aspect of violin-playing technique and contrapuntal ingenuity that would have been known in Bach's day. The Chaconne, whose duration exceeds 15 minutes (and is thus longer than the rest of the work put together) is often performed as a free-standing movement and has also been widely transcribed for other instruments. Bach's Chaconne, Ciaccona, Chacona.

TCHAIKOVSKY ~ Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor - LANG LANG / Järvi

TCHAIKOVSKY ~ Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor - LANG LANG / Järvi

From 2015, Lang Lang performs Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto # 1 in B flat minor with Paavo Järvi conducting the Orchestre de Paris. As brilliant as this work from Tchaikovsky is, the question of its introduction has always been a sore point for critics and enthusiasts. The concerto's first theme, which follows the famous introduction, is based on a melody that Tchaikovsky heard performed by blind beggar-musicians at a market in Kamenka (near Kiev), is notable for its apparent formal independence from the rest of the movement and from the concerto as a whole, especially given its setting not in the work’s nominal key of B-flat minor but rather in D-flat major, that key's relative major. Despite the introductions very substantial nature, this first theme is only heard twice, and it never reappears at any later point in the concerto. Because of its independence from the rest of the work the introduction posed an enigma to analysts and critics alike. As definitive a puzzlement as it is, the work continues on with the rest of the first movement as well as the brilliant second and third movements seeming to be linked quite inconspicuously , albeit quite subtly. J.S.Bach Piano Concerto in D Minor D Minor BWV 1052 Polina Osetinskaya Anton Gakkel

J.S.Bach Piano Concerto in D Minor D Minor BWV 1052 Polina Osetinskaya Anton Gakkel

NEW AMAZING MUSIC FROM POLINA OSETINSKAYA & MAXIM NOVIKOV here https://youtu.be/BK3aTsBKj9M https://youtu.be/_h2-h831iLw J.S.Bach HARPSICHORD Concerto in D Minor BWV 1052 Polina Osetinskaya piano The Mariinsky String Orchestra / Conductor: Anton Gakkel (2015) 0:05 - 1mvt / 8:15 - 2mvt / 16:13 - 3mvt The life of pianist Polina Osetinskaya can be divided into two stages. The first – that of “wunderkind” (a word that Polina herself cannot abide) – was when Polina performed as a girl in huge halls filled with excited sensationalists. The second, which has continued to the present day, is essentially her victory over the first. It is both a reference to serious performing and to exacting audiences. Polina Osetinskaya began to perform at the age of five. At the age of seven she entered the Central School of Music of the Moscow Conservatoire. Polina gave her first concert at the age of six at the Great Hall of the Vilnius Conservatoire in Lithuania. Together with her father who accepted the role of manager, the young Polina began to undertake frequent tours throughout the former USSR to packed halls and ovations. In her own country Polina was possibly the most famous child of her time and her relationship with her father was portrayed by the mass media as some kind of soap opera after the thirteen-year-old Polina decided to leave her father and study music seriously at the school of the Leningrad Conservatoire under the acclaimed teacher Marina Wolf. Polina began to tour once again while still a student at the St Petersburg Conservatoire. (The pianist subsequently completed a postgraduate course at the Moscow Conservatoire under Professor Vera Gornostayeva.) She has appeared with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Weimar National Opera, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St Petersburg Philharmonic (Honoured Ensemble of Russia), the State Academic Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosi and the New Russia orchestra among other ensembles. Polina Osetinskaya’s onstage partners have included conductors Saulius Sondeckis, Vassily Sinaisky, Andrei Boreiko, Gerd Albrecht, Yan Pascal Tortelier and Thomas Sanderling. Polina Osetinskaya has performed at the Wallonie Festival in Brussels, the Mainly Mozart festival, the Frédéric Chopin Festival in Miami, the Stars of the White Nights festival and the December Evenings festival among numerous others. The pianist has been awarded the Maly Triumph prize. In 2008 she wrote her autobiography Farewell, Sadness, which became a bestseller. Polina Osetinskaya generally creates unusual and frequently paradoxical solo programmes. She almost always includes works by contemporary composers, frequently justaposing them with traditional classical works: “Contemporary music is not just a continuation of older music. It also helps us discover ideas and beauty in older music that have been lost over decades of the blind museum generation and mechanical and often soulless performing.” Polina Osetinskaya often performs works by post-avant-garde composers such as Valentin Silvestrov, Leonid Desyatnikov, Vladimir Martynov, Georgs Pelēcis and Pavel Karmanov. The pianist collaborates with many recording companies including Naxos, Sony Music and Bel Air.
