Anycubic Photon – Ultimate detail 3D printing

Anycubic Photon – Ultimate detail 3D printing

3D printers have come a long way over the past few years and if you need extreme detail when 3D printing then you have to check out DLP 3D printers… They are amazing to say the least! Over the past month I’ve been experimenting and testing the Anycubic Photon DLP 3D printer and to be brief I’m very impressed, it’s not 100% perfect but for what I do, building detailed model scenery and structures this printer certainly exceeds expectations. If you build models that need good detail like those who build model railways, wargaming and dioramas then you may want to consider one of these printers, it requires a bit of post processing however if you’re willing to spend hours building a model kit then taking the time to make and process a 3D printed item won’t seem like a big deal. For more information be sure to visit http://www.bouldercreekrailroad.com and you will find a detailed guide on using this 3D printer as well as some common problems that you may experience and ways to fix them. Boulder creek railroad is supported by people like you through patreon, if you’d like to help support the channel be sure to check out my patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/luketowan

3D printing with ViscoTec - fluids and pastes

3D-printing heads by ViscoTec for materials like silicone, UV- curing adhesive, two component adhesive as well used for organic cell solutions and pastes. The advantage against other printers is a unique combination of speed and accuracy (resolution). We can print at a layer thickness of 0,2 mm up to 1 ml/minute (depending on viscosity). Further we guarantee a gentle dosing of structure sensitive pastes and we can handle highest viscosities. ViscoTec concentrates on the printing head or device and the software that can be integrated in nearly every 3D printer. The Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer by Formlabs Review: A Great Buy for Medical 3D Printing

The Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer by Formlabs Review: A Great Buy for Medical 3D Printing

The Form 2 3D printer is a great buy for medical 3D printing. It has a 25 micron lay thickness, improved build volume, and many other improvements over its predecessor. Free download of splenic artery aneurysm file at embodi3d.com: http://www.embodi3d.com/files/file/6386-stl-and-formlabs-files-for-3d-printing-a-splenic-artery-aneurysm/ Embodi3D.com, the biomedical 3D printing community. Learn how to do medical 3D printing!: http://www.embodi3d.com/ Form 2 printer: http://formlabs.com/products/3d-printers/form-2/ Dr. Mike reviews the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer by Formlabs in this informative unpacking video presented by embodi3D.com. This video provides medical 3D printing enthusiasts with the information needed to make an informed purchase of the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer, which is one of the newest stereolithography printers available. In this video, Dr. Mike describes the many benefits of the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer. Using stereolithography, the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer by Formlabs can print a layer thickness of 25 microns. This is a massive improvement compared to the 100-micron layer thickness capability of many comparable fused deposition modeling 3D printers. There are many improvements in the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer over its predecessor. It boasts a larger build volume (14.5 x 14.5 x 17.5cm), a heated tank, a new slide peel system, a resin wiper that reduces print failures, dust protection, an automated resin system, and wi-fi connectivity. After the exciting unveiling of the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer, Dr. Mike demonstrates how it is quickly ready for printing. The onboard touchscreen on the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer lets users know what’s needed for proper setup, such as leveling the device. After completing the setup and easily attaching parts like the resin cartridge, the resin tank, and the build platform, the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer is ready to print. Dr. Mike exhibits the power of the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer by showing the first two models created with it. The first project shown is a hollowed 3D vascular model printed with clear material. The second is a 3D lumbar spine model printed in clear resin. Great levels of detail can be seen in both examples. The Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer by Formlabs is available for $3499. This is much less expensive than other models of 3D printers that are commonly used to create accurate 3D medical models. A resin tank, build platform, finishing kit, and a 1 liter choice of resin are included with purchase of the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer by Formlabs. Consumers can count on Formlabs to support the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer beyond the purchase. This is achieved by continuing to release software updates for the product and by providing a 1-year warranty. In addition to the great support provided for customers, Formlabs offers free PreForm software that makes it easy to set up a 3D printing project. One drawback of the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer by Formlabs that Dr. Mike notes is the mess it causes. Gloves and isopropyl alcohol will be needed to complete projects, and poorly-ventilated rooms may be problematic. Dr. Mike describes the overall value of the Form 2 Desktop 3D Printer by Formlabs as outstanding! Those who found this tutorial useful should subscribe and download the splenic artery aneurysm model that can be found in STL and Formlabs formats at embodi3D.com.

Formlabs Dental Case Study: Dr. Michael Scherer

Formlabs Dental Case Study: Dr. Michael Scherer

Find out how Dr. Michael Scherer is using 3D printing for digital dentistry to create bleaching trays, bite guards, and surgical guides. See more dental case studies: http://formlabs.com/dentistry/ "The possibilities of 3D printing in dentistry is limitless. In dentistry right now, digital technology is really exciting. Gone are the days of the old-fashioned gooey, messy impression. Having a 3D printer in my practice has literally changed everything I do. I can do a host of different things with it, including making my own bleaching trays, bite guards, or even surgical guides. What I do is, I scan a patient’s teeth, and with that digital scan I can output an STL file. With an in-office 3D printer I can fabricate my own surgical guides, where before I used to have to send this out to the laboratory, wait two to three weeks, and pay hundreds of dollars. And now I can print out a model in about an hour. I create a vacuum template that goes over the top of those sleeves, when I take my instruments and start drilling through here, I've married the precision of 3D planning with 3D printing. I can practice an actual surgical procedure on that 3D printed model, so that way when I go to the mouth, I've already done it once. The amazing thing is that we can take a technology like an in-office 3D printer and it makes our tasks easier, but it won’t make us change what we do."

NewPro3D (World's Fastest?) at CES 2016

NewPro3D (World's Fastest?) at CES 2016

Diego Castanon is part of the NewPro3D team. Their printer is CLIP's biggest (and fastest) competitor. According to Diego, it prints the same sphere as the Carbon3D (6.5 minutes) in 4.3 minutes. It works without oxygen permeable glass so there is essentially no size limitation and it's non-dependent on specific resins. It utilizes a provisional patent which is described as a "dead-zone" to replace the glass layer. The build from CES uses what appears to be an off-the-shelf projector, but SLA would also be an option. Next, they are working on metal 3D printer which he claims will be twice as fast (as other metal printers?). We are certainly excited to see where this technology goes in the next year! 17 Incredible 3D Printed Objects

17 Incredible 3D Printed Objects

From beautiful and unbelievable instruments that actually work to even things like an incredible 3D printed pizza made by NASA! Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr # 10 3D-Printed Ear You’ve seen 3D printing make fashion garments and body prosthetics, so it’s not too much of a leap to imagine a 3D printed organ. Scientists at Princeton University designed this bionic ear that can actually hear even better than human ears. The 3D printed cells and nanoparticles with a small coil antenna create the cyber ear that can be installed onto a real human and hear radio frequencies a million times higher than our own ears. # 9 3D-Printed Cast Jake Evill was a recent graduate of Victoria University when he broke his hand and was stuck with an arm cast that he found “archaic.” So he designed a cast for the millennial: a 3D printed, lightweight, washable, and breathable. It lets in air and prevents that age-old feeling of gross itchiness and suffocation the usual plaster casts come with. Plus, they just look super cool. # 8 3D Printed Pizza Try explaining to someone from 10 years ago that NASA funded a 3D printing project to print pizza. Well, that’s the reality we are living in. The company known as BeeHex was commissioned by NASA to develop palatable food for astronauts’ deep space journeys to Mars. The printer can create specific flavors and toppings and even shapes based on scanned .JPEG files to keep those bored astronauts appeased on their years-long journey. Humans aren’t scheduled to make any trips to our sister planet until the early 2030s, so we’ll probably be seeing these printed pizzas at theme parks and novelty restaurants until then. # 7 Shakuhachi Flute The Shakuhachi flute is a beautiful Japanese flute from the ancient Edo period that is classically made from a bamboo shoot. In 2016, you can now 3D print one out of stainless steel with matte or gold finishes and an intricate dragon design. You can own this ancient instrument for as little as 240 dollars. # 6 3D Fetus 3D scans of your unborn fetus can be a little confusing to look at or understand. Now, you can get a 3D print of your fetus to hold and touch and see. For as little as 1275 US dollars a Japanese company will create a small sculpture with a software called Biotexture. # 5 3DVarius Violin If you’re into instruments at all you’re probably aware of the Stradivarius Violins and string instruments renowned for their well-made instruments. The 3Dvarius violins brings that model to the modern age with a slick 3D printed polymer design and funky synthetic sound. While it is based on the Stradivarius violins, it’s goal was to be it’s own unique shape and have it’s own unique sound. #4 Tampon Magazine Here’s something I’m sure none of us thought would exist: a Tampon Magazine. It’s meant to make you have fun and feel cute storing your tampons in a hyper-femme bullet style box, letting you shoot ‘em out whenever you need. It isn't really space efficient or practical but it is a way to bring something fun into what is arguably the worst time of any lunar cycle. #3 3D Printed Medical Models Surgeons and medical practitioners often have to practice procedures on dummy models or cadavers, but as you can imagine those options are either slightly inaccurate or expensive and a limited resource. Now, with 3D printed models practice dummies are easier to come by AND more accurate which is great for patients and surgeons alike. # 2 3D Printed Buildings When you think about 3D printing, you usually imagine printing little gadgets, lifehacks, and little things that make your life easier. If you take that to its logical conclusion, you might wonder if we'll ever have 3D printed buildings and housing. Well, we do, and they were printed and constructed by WinSun in China. These two buildings were constructed from parts entirely made with specially made 3D printing technology including the plumbing, wiring, and entire foundations. # 1 3D Printed Camera Lens This camera - including the lens - was made completely with a 3D printer, and it actually works! Camera lenses are made from either acyrlic or sandblasted resin, and it has all the moving parts that allow you to change aperture, load and unload film. The photos that come from this 3D printed camera aren’t exactly crisp or super pristine, but they have a dreamy quality about them that you would expect to come out of a handcrafted camera.

How To Make Resin Copies of 3D-Printed Figures

This video was brought to you by Premium memberships on Tested. Thanks to our members who've supported us. Learn more about memberships here: http://www.tested.com/membership We do a lot of 3D printing at Tested, but it's a time-consuming process best used for prototyping, not mass production. To replicate our 3D prints, we invited Frank Ippolito up to Adam's shop to teach us how to make simple rubber molds and cast awesome resin copies. It's really not difficult to get started! Video shot and edited by Joey Fameli Music Library provided by Jingle Punks Thanks to Smooth-On for providing materials for this video Like this video and let us know if you want to see more How-To videos with Frank Ippolito on Tested!

The emergence of

The emergence of "4D printing" | Skylar Tibbits

3D printing has grown in sophistication since the late 1970s; TED Fellow Skylar Tibbits is shaping the next development, which he calls 4D printing, where the fourth dimension is time. This emerging technology will allow us to print objects that then reshape themselves or self-assemble over time. Think: a printed cube that folds before your eyes, or a printed pipe able to sense the need to expand or contract. TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less).
