Freddie Mercury transformation from 1 to 45 years old

Freddie Mercury transformation from 1 to 45 years old

Freddie mercury through the years. Farrokh "Freddie" Mercury (5 September 1946 – 24 November 1991) was a British singer, songwriter and record producer, known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Queen. He was known for his flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range. Mercury wrote numerous hits for Queen, including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen", "Somebody to Love", "Don't Stop Me Now", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", and "We Are the Champions". He led a solo career while performing with Queen, and occasionally served as a producer and guest musician for other artists. Mercury was born of Parsi descent in the Sultanate of Zanzibar, and grew up there and in India before moving with his family to Middlesex, England, in his teens. He formed Queen in 1970 with guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. Mercury died in 1991 at age 45 due to complications from AIDS, having confirmed the day before his death that he had contracted the disease. In 1992, Mercury was posthumously awarded the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music, and a tribute concert was held at Wembley Stadium, London. As a member of Queen, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003, and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004. In 2002, he was placed number 58 in the BBC's 2002 poll of the 100 Greatest Britons. He is consistently voted one of the greatest singers in the history of popular music. How did Freddie Mercury contract AIDS?

How did Freddie Mercury contract AIDS?

Who gave Freddie Mercury AIDS? Rumor has it Freddie was infected in the mid to late 70’s, essentially on his first visit (or second) visit to New York, which was the epicentre of the GRID (gay-related immune deficiency) epidemic. By 1982 he was starting to show symptoms of being infected already, and by 1984 he had the first appearance of possible KS (Kaposi Sarcoma) on his body, which he thought was bruising to start with, until more started to appear on his body and face - hence the thicker makeup, and later covering of his legs, and areas where they were. According to his partner Jim Hutton, Mercury was diagnosed with AIDS in late April 1987. Around that time, Mercury claimed in an interview to have tested negative for HIV. For him to have full blown AIDS by 1987, and with average HIV incubation period it means he could have been infected as far back as 1976–1978. As to ‘who’ infected him with HIV (not AIDS), most probably there were several people who exposed him to the virus over the years, and he may well have been re-exposed to the virus more than once by the same person/people. Upon returning from a tour in 1976 he told Mary Austin that he thought he was bisexual. Mary herself has said that their relationship had been different for the last 18 months to 2 years (1974–1976), and they split the same year. After which Freddie began to spend more time in New York and explore that side of his sexuality having numerous one night stands with men, as well as with some women. We know New York was the epicentre of the HIV epidemic, and we know Freddie was starting to hit the gay bars in New York during his early visits to the US as he found the freedom to explore that side of himself there. Freddie was hanging around with a Russian called Nicolai at this time, who was ‘very’ promiscuous and who would later go on to die from - apparently -the same strain of HIV/AIDS as Kenny Everett. Kenny and Freddie both slept with Nicolai, and shared several lovers with each other, and Nicolai. So, Mercury was probably infected in New York during one of his early visits to the US. Jim Hutton was the ‘husband' of the late Freddie Mercury for seven years before the legendary Queen singer died of Aids in 1991. He and Freddie first met in a gay nightclub in 1983. Jim moved into Garden Lodge and became Freddie's gardener. Hutton lived with Mercury for the last six years of his life, nursed him during his illness, and was present at his bedside when he died. Hutton said Mercury died wearing the wedding band that Hutton had given him. On 22 November 1991, Mercury called Queen's manager Jim Beach over to his Kensington home to discuss a public statement, which was released the following day: Following the enormous conjecture in the press over the last two weeks, I wish to confirm that I have been tested HIV positive and have AIDS. I felt it correct to keep this information private to date to protect the privacy of those around me. However, the time has come now for my friends and fans around the world to know the truth and I hope that everyone will join with me, my doctors and all those worldwide in the fight against this terrible disease. My privacy has always been very special to me and I am famous for my lack of interviews. Please understand this policy will continue. On the evening of 24 November 1991, just over 24 hours after issuing that statement, Mercury died at the age of 45 at his home in Kensington. The official cause of death was bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS. In 1994, Hutton released a book entitled ‘Mercury and Me’, a memoir of his relationship with the famed singer. Within the book, Hutton shared details of his relationship with Mercury as well as some never before seen candid photos of both himself and Mercury together. On New Year's Day in 2010, Hutton died at the age of 60 from lung cancer, just three days shy of his 61st birthday. In 1990, Hutton was diagnosed with AIDS and dealt with it until his death. Hutton, who cared for Mercury during the singers battle with the same syndrome, said that it took him a year to break the news to Mercury that he too had been diagnosed with AIDS. Many believed that Hutton had died from complications with AIDS, however, it was revealed that his death was caused by lung cancer. #FreddieMercury #Queen #Mercury

We Are The Champions but it's a complete mess | Queen

Man, I could've sworn I remembered Queen being better than this! Very disappointing! CHECK OUT MY PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/MagikMikeMusic TWITTER: https://twitter.com/MagikMikeMusic Original Lyrics: I've paid my dues Time after time I've done my sentence But committed no criime And bad mistakes I've made a few I've had my share of sand kicked in my face But I've come through (And the beat will go on and on and on and on) [Chorus] We are the champions, my friends And we'll keep on fighting...till the end We are the champions, We are the champions No time for losers cause we are the champions... Of the world [Verse 2] I've taken my bows And my curtain calls You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it I thank you all But it's been no bed of roses No pleasure cruise I consider it a challenge before the whole human race And I ain't gonna lose (Where the beat just goes on and on and on and on) [Outro] We are the champions, my friends And we'll keep on fighting...till the end We are the champions, We are the champions No time for losers cause we are the champions... Of the world We are the champions, my friends And we'll keep on fighting...till the end We are the champions, We are the champions No time for losers cause we are the champions... "We Are the Champions" is a song by the British rock band Queen, first released on their 1977 album News of the World.[1] Written by lead singer Freddie Mercury, it is one of Queen's most popular songs, and one of rock's most recognisable anthems.[2] The song was a worldwide success, reaching number two in the UK Singles Chart, and number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.[3][4] In 2009, "We Are the Champions" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame,[5] and was voted the world's favourite song in a 2005 Sony Ericsson world music poll.[6] In 2011, a team of scientific researchers concluded that the song was the catchiest in the history of popular music.[7] "We Are the Champions" has become an anthem for victories at sporting events,[2] including as official theme song for 1994 FIFA World Cup, and has been often used or referenced in popular culture. The song has also been covered by many artists. On 7 October 2017, Queen released a Raw Sessions version of the track to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of News of the World. It was made from previously unheard vocal and instrumental takes from the original multi-track tapes. It also presents for the first time the original recorded length of the track, which is two choruses more than the 1977 edited single. --------------------- I feel like this is one of my weaker efforts so sorry guys lol, wish I could've done better, especially given that this is my favorite band. Unfortunately, it was extremely difficult to find footage that wouldn't get blocked and I'm pretty behind on my studies so I'm tight for time.

Queen - Live at LIVE AID 1985/07/13 [Best Version]

Queen - Live at LIVE AID 1985/07/13 [Best Version]

This is the absolute ULTIMATE experience of Queen's set at LIVE AID, this is the best video mixed to the absolutely superior stereo radio broadcast. This vastly superior audio mix takes a huge dump on all of the official mixes. Best viewed in 1080p. ENJOY! ***MAKE SURE TO READ THE DESCRIPTION*** 00:36 - Bohemian Rhapsody 02:42 - Radio Ga Ga 06:53 - Ay Oh! 07:34 - Hammer To Fall 12:08 - Crazy Little Thing Called Love 16:03 - We Will Rock You 17:18 - We Are The Champions 21:12 - Is This The World We Created...? Short song analysis: - "Bohemian Rhapsody": Although it's a short medley version, it's one of the best performances of the ballad section, with Freddie nailing the Bb4s with the correct studio phrasing (for the first time ever!). - "Radio Ga Ga": Although it's missing one chorus, this is one of - if not the best - the best versions ever, Freddie nails all the Bb4s and sounds very clean! Spike Edney's Roland Jupiter 8 also really shines through on this mix, compared to the DVD releases! - "Audience Improv": A great improv, Freddie sounds strong and confident. You gotta love when he sustains that A4 for 4 seconds! - "Hammer To Fall": Despite missing a verse and a chorus, it's a strong version (possibly the best ever). Freddie sings the song amazingly, and even ad-libs a C#5 and a C5! Also notice how heavy Brian's guitar sounds compared to the thin DVD mixes - it roars! - "Crazy Little Thing Called Love": A great version, the crowd loves the song, the jam is great as well! Only downside to this is the slight feedback issues. - "We Will Rock You": Although cut down to the 1st verse and chorus, Freddie sounds strong. He nails the A4, and the solo from Dr. May is brilliant! - "We Are the Champions": Perhaps the high-light of the performance - Freddie is very daring on this version, he sustains the pre-chorus Bb4s, nails the 1st C5, belts great A4s, but most importantly: He nails the chorus Bb4s, in all 3 choruses! This is the only time he has ever done so! It has to be said though, the last one sounds a bit rough, but that's a side effect of belting high notes for the past 18 minutes, with nodules AND laryngitis! - "Is This The World We Created... ?": Freddie and Brian perform a beautiful version of this, and it is one of the best versions ever. It's both sad and hilarious that a couple of BBC engineers are talking over the song, one of them being completely oblivious of the fact that he is interrupting the performance, on live television... Which was being televised to almost 2 billion homes. When Freddie Mercury Threw a Party

When Freddie Mercury Threw a Party

At the peak of his career, flamboyant Freddie Mercury threw himself into the party scene with gusto. Queen became known in the industry for throwing the most outrageous events, including a notorious bash at New Orleans’ Fairmont Hotel in 1978. The party, to celebrate the release of the album Jazz, reportedly featured naked waiters and waitresses, an entertainer biting heads off live chickens, nude models wrestling in a bath and an army of dwarfs walking around the venue with trays of cocaine strapped to their heads. His wild partying ways were a far cry from his childhood where he spent time at a strict Indian school before fleeing to London with his family, aged eight. Allegations of excessive drug use followed Freddie throughout his life, but he never put the breaks on his social life - even after he contracted HIV. He celebrated his 41st birthday at the Pikes Hotel in Ibiza, just months after his diagnosis, with one of the wildest parties the island had ever seen. Freddie invited 700 guests, including Kylie Minogue, Bon Jovi and Boy George, to witness a firework display so spectacular that it could be seen over 100 miles away in Majorca. A staggering 350 bottles of Moet & Chandon champagne were poured over the course of the evening, and the final bar bill - presented to Queen's manager, Jim Beach, included the cost of 232 glasses which had been smashed. By the mid Eighties, Queen were so famous they began hanging out with the royals. Freddie was mates with Princess Diana, and it has been claimed that he once sneaked the late princess into a gay club. The singer disguised Diana with a thick jacket, hat and sunglasses, and took her to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern where she spent a rare night away from the limelight as Freddie kept the crowds distracted. But Freddie's royal friends weren't limited to Diana - he also had a close bond with Michael Jackson, the King of pop. The two musical titans spent time recording together in 1983, but it was reported that some of Jackson's quirky behaviour pushed Freddie over the edge before they could finish anything. Queen's manager, Jim Beach, has spoken about a memorable phone call where Freddie begged to put and end to recording. "Michael’s bringing his pet llama into the studio every day and I’m really not used to recording with a llama," Freddie said. "I’ve had enough and I’d like to get out." However, it has also been claimed that Jackson pulled the plug on a session when he caught Freddie snorting coke through a hundred-dollar bill. #FreddieMercury #Queen #Mercury

In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like a family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day. © 20th Century Fox
