Queen - Live at LIVE AID 1985/07/13 [Best Version]

Queen - Live at LIVE AID 1985/07/13 [Best Version]

This is the absolute ULTIMATE experience of Queen's set at LIVE AID, this is the best video mixed to the absolutely superior stereo radio broadcast. This vastly superior audio mix takes a huge dump on all of the official mixes. Best viewed in 1080p. ENJOY! ***MAKE SURE TO READ THE DESCRIPTION*** 00:36 - Bohemian Rhapsody 02:42 - Radio Ga Ga 06:53 - Ay Oh! 07:34 - Hammer To Fall 12:08 - Crazy Little Thing Called Love 16:03 - We Will Rock You 17:18 - We Are The Champions 21:12 - Is This The World We Created...? Short song analysis: - "Bohemian Rhapsody": Although it's a short medley version, it's one of the best performances of the ballad section, with Freddie nailing the Bb4s with the correct studio phrasing (for the first time ever!). - "Radio Ga Ga": Although it's missing one chorus, this is one of - if not the best - the best versions ever, Freddie nails all the Bb4s and sounds very clean! Spike Edney's Roland Jupiter 8 also really shines through on this mix, compared to the DVD releases! - "Audience Improv": A great improv, Freddie sounds strong and confident. You gotta love when he sustains that A4 for 4 seconds! - "Hammer To Fall": Despite missing a verse and a chorus, it's a strong version (possibly the best ever). Freddie sings the song amazingly, and even ad-libs a C#5 and a C5! Also notice how heavy Brian's guitar sounds compared to the thin DVD mixes - it roars! - "Crazy Little Thing Called Love": A great version, the crowd loves the song, the jam is great as well! Only downside to this is the slight feedback issues. - "We Will Rock You": Although cut down to the 1st verse and chorus, Freddie sounds strong. He nails the A4, and the solo from Dr. May is brilliant! - "We Are the Champions": Perhaps the high-light of the performance - Freddie is very daring on this version, he sustains the pre-chorus Bb4s, nails the 1st C5, belts great A4s, but most importantly: He nails the chorus Bb4s, in all 3 choruses! This is the only time he has ever done so! It has to be said though, the last one sounds a bit rough, but that's a side effect of belting high notes for the past 18 minutes, with nodules AND laryngitis! - "Is This The World We Created... ?": Freddie and Brian perform a beautiful version of this, and it is one of the best versions ever. It's both sad and hilarious that a couple of BBC engineers are talking over the song, one of them being completely oblivious of the fact that he is interrupting the performance, on live television... Which was being televised to almost 2 billion homes. Queen - the old days

Queen - the old days "These are the days of our lives "

A tribute to Queen and their over 20 years together. It's been hard to pick pictures - among thousands - but I had to choose some in HQ (as possible) - and some rare ones, to make some diversity. I've also chosen primarily older pictures. There haven't been anyone until now who could remotely do what Queen did at the stage. You did it well! I don't own any of these pictures - I just composed them together - including the music. I therefore have no rights over them. Feel free to share this video, that would just be an honor.

Freddie Mercury Artworks With Some Quotes

Freddie Mercury Artworks With Some Quotes

My facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/QueenwhenMusicisMagicandMagicisMusic?ref=hl Songs: Larry Lurex, "Going Back", 1973 and a part of "The Miracle" (Queen, 1989). I made this video with some Mercury's artworks (he earned a Diploma in Art and Graphic Design at Ealing Art Collage, later using these skills to design the Queen crest). There are also some famous quotes by Freddie. Thank you for watching! Description of Freddie Mercury Rose: A spectacular rose, and great plant gift idea for any fans of Freddie Mercury and Queen. Blooms are soft tones of yellow and apricot. Dark glossy green foliage complemented by an abundance of single and small cluster flowers. Overall height 90cm making it ideal for a container or can be plant in the garden. LYRICS: GOING BACK (Words and music by Gerry Goffin and Carole King) I think I'm going back To the things I learnt so well in my youth I think I'm returning to Those days when I was young enough to know the truth Now there are no games To only pass the time No more colouring books No Christmas bells to chime But thinking young and growing older is no sin And I can't play the game of life to win I can recall a time When I wasn't ashamed to reach out to a friend And now I think I've got A lot more than just my toys to lend Now there's more to do Than watch my sailboat glide And every day can be My magic carpet ride And I can play hide and seek with my fears And live my days instead of counting my years Then everyone debates The true reality I'd rather see the world The way it used to be A little bit of freedom's all we lack So catch me if you can I'm going back THE MIRACLE (Queen) (Every drop of rain that falls in Sahara Desert says it all It's a miracle All God's creations great and small the Golden Gate and the Taj Mahal That's a miracle Test tube babies being born mothers, fathers dead and gone It's a miracle We're having a miracle on earth mother nature does it all for us The wonders of this world go on the hanging Gardens of Babylon, Captain Cook and Cain and Abel) Jimi Hendrix to the Tower of Babel It's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle The one thing we're all waiting for is peace on earth an end to war It's a miracle we need, the miracle The miracle we're all waiting for today If every leaf on every tree could tell a story that would be a miracle If every child on every street had clothes to wear and food to eat That's a miracle If all God's people could be free to live in perfect harmony It's a miracle We're having a miracle on earth mother nature does it all for us Open hearts and surgery Sunday mornings with a cup of tea Super powers always fighting but Mona Lisa just keeps on smiling It's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle The wonders of this world go on, It's a miracle, it's a miracle, it's a miracle The one thing we're all waiting for is peace on earth and the end to war It's a miracle we need, the miracle, the miracle Peace on earth and end to war That time will come one day you'll see when we can all be friends That time will come one day you'll see when we can all be friends when we can all be friends Spero vi piaccia!

Queen Perform Live at LIVE AID on 13 July 1985 [ORIGINAL]

Queen Perform Live at LIVE AID on 13 July 1985 [ORIGINAL]

This performance at Live Aid at Wembley Stadium in 1985 is often regarded as Queen's greatest single live performance. Their set lasted 21 minutes and consisted of "Bohemian Rhapsody" (ballad section and guitar solo), "Radio Ga Ga", a crowd singalong, "Hammer to Fall", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", "We Will Rock You" (1st verse), and "We Are the Champions". Mercury and May returned later on to perform a version of "Is This the World We Created?" The band were unenthusiastic about performing when they were first approached by Geldof, but the acclaim they received after their performance led to them writing, collectively, the song "One Vision" which was then released as a single.

Freddie Mercury - You are really Somebody To Love.

Freddie Mercury - You are really Somebody To Love.

Today is November 24and it's 24 years ago Freddie Mercury died. Today - and yes i mean it - in ONE day (hence the quality of most of the clips) we made this small tribute to this incredible man. A man with a talent which will live on and on and on. As if it won't let go of us. No matter if you liked him or not - love his music or not, you have to accept the fact that he came, he saw and he conquered - and left footsteps all over the world. This small video tells a small story of a great man and some of his great steps - which made and will make great great great impact on others forthcoming steps. It's a small "thank you" - from around the world in disguise as a small piece of paper - you'll get the picture when you se it. AND our deepest respect for the great great great John Deacon, Roger Taylor and Brian May. QUEEN! Thank you for reading this.

10 Bohemian Rhapsody Deleted Scenes That Could Have Made The Movie Better

10 Bohemian Rhapsody Deleted Scenes That Could Have Made The Movie Better

Bohemian Rhapsody left out some key scenes that could have brought the movie to the next level! Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/ho3Hg6 Queen is one of the most legendary bands in the history of rock and roll. ‘We Will Rock You,’ ‘We Are the Champions,’ ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ - even if you wouldn’t call yourself a Queen fan, you know exactly what these songs are. They’ve become ingrained in our lives. It was only a matter of time before someone decided to tell the story of this amazing band. Bohemian Rhapsody finally gives fans what they want and, thanks to an incredible performance by Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, it’s a big box office hit. Like any film, Bohemian Rhapsody left its fair share on the cutting room floor. Some great moments from the band’s history didn’t even make it past the screenwriting process. For instance, there’s no indication that Freddie Mercury had been a lover of music from a very young age. Not only that, by the age of seven he was taking piano lessons and by age twelve had even formed a band with his classmates. Queen’s legendary Live Aid performance does indeed make an appearance in Bohemian Rhapsody, but with the caveat of one song being cut out. Even little moments such as Mercury creating the Queen Crest or how he came up with one of the band’s best tunes ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love,’ ended up on the cutting room floor. Bohemian Rhapsody may still be a good film, but we feel by including a couple of these deleted scenes, it could have been even better. Let’s explore some of the moments cut out from Bohemian Rhapsody and determine which ones should have stayed. Featuring: Entry 1 - FREDDIE’S CHILDHOOD Entry 2 - LIVE AID Entry 3 - CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED TUB Entry 4 - QUEEN CREST Entry 5 - ‘39 IN JAPAN Entry 6 - JOHN DEACON Entry 7 - FREDDIE AND MARY Entry 8 - NIGHTCLUBBING Entry 9 - BANDMATES Entry 10 - PG-13 RATING Check out these other awesome videos! 8 Things Bohemian Rhapsody Got Wrong About Freddie Mercury https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWHXwd4fOjk Amazing Facts You Didn't Know About Stan Lee's Marvel Cameos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALIvrsJVSFs Our Social Media: https://twitter.com/screenrant https://www.facebook.com/ScreenRant https://plus.google.com/+ScreenRant Our Website http://screenrant.com/

Freddie Mercury Queen - A Perfect Rock Star ♥ HD/HQ [1/2]

Freddie Mercury Queen - A Perfect Rock Star ♥ HD/HQ [1/2]

Bruce Springsteen declined an invitation to play at Live Aid despite his huge popularity in 1985, later stating that he "simply did not realise how big the whole thing was going to be". He has since expressed regret at turning down Geldof's invitation to appear at Live Aid stating that he could have played a couple of acoustic songs had there been no slot available for a full band performance. Michael Jackson and Prince also did not play (although Prince did send a pre-taped video of an acoustic version of "4 the Tears in Your Eyes", which was played during the concert. The original version appears on the We Are the World album, while the video version was released in 1993 on Prince's compilation The Hits/The B-Sides.) Billy Joel, Boy George, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Tears for Fears, and Stevie Wonder, along with Huey Lewis and the News and Paul Simon, were all included in the initial promotional material for the Philadelphia concert, but failed to appear at the show itself. The final poster for the Philadelphia show features the acts Peter, Paul and Mary and Rod Stewart (who also featured in the Philadelphia concert programme). Peter, Paul and Mary were to have joined Bob Dylan for a rendition of "Blowing In The Wind" which on the day failed to happen (though they can be spotted taking part in the concert's finale), while Rod Stewart was not touring at the time and was ultimately unable to put together a band in time for the concert. Tears for Fears did not appear at the Philadelphia leg of the concert, though listed on the bill. According to band member Roland Orzabal, Bob Geldof "gave us so much gip for not turning up at Live Aid. All those millions of people dying, it was our fault. I felt terrible. I tell you, I know how Hitler must have felt." The group made up for their absence by donating the proceeds from several shows of their world tour that year, and also contributed a re-recording of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" (entitled "Everybody Wants to Run the World") for Geldof's Sport Aid charity event in 1986. The single reached the Top 5 in the UK, even though the band's original version had been a hit only a year earlier. Cat Stevens wrote a song for the Live Aid concert, which he never got to perform -- had he done so, he would have made his first public concert appearance since converting to Islam and changing his name to Yusuf Islam. However according to the official book that was released after the event, he arrived at Wembley Stadium on the day without prior warning, and Geldof was unable to fit him into the schedule. Liza Minnelli, Yoko Ono, and Cyndi Lauper were tapped to present at JFK Stadium, but due to scheduling conflicts the singers backed out. Lauper did appear in a commercial for the "Live Aid Book" that aired during the concert. A reunited Deep Purple were also due to appear from Switzerland via satellite, but pulled out after guitarist Ritchie Blackmore refused to take part in the event. Eurythmics were scheduled to play Wembley but cancelled after Annie Lennox suffered serious throat problems. Huey Lewis and the News and Paul Simon both accepted requests to play the Philadelphia concert but later issued press statements stating they had chosen not to appear after all, citing disagreements with promoter Bill Graham. Deep Purple (minus Blackmore, who left the band in 1993) appeared at Geldof's Live 8 sequel 20 years later, performing at the Toronto leg of the event while Annie Lennox appeared at the London leg of the same event. There were wild rumours at the time that George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr would reunite as The Beatles; for the first time since the band's dissolution in 1970. There was also frenzied speculation that Julian Lennon would join the three former Beatles. There were no grounds for the rumours or speculation from any of the musicians referred to and there is no evidence that the rumours were anything but fan fantasy. Paul McCartney appeared at the event in his own right. Bob Geldof also invited Def Leppard to perform at the event, but due to Rick Allen's car accident and uncertain future of the next album, they turned it down. Def Leppard appeared at the Philadelphia leg of Geldof's Live 8 sequel 20 years later. Talking Heads was to have appeared, but David Byrne was currently busy with his film True Stories at the time of the concert. AC/DC were also invited to play at the event, however they declined the invitation. Frank Zappa was invited to perform, but refused because he believed that money raised by Live Aid did not address the core problems facing the developing world. He also questioned the legitimacy of Live Aid, saying "I think Live Aid was the biggest cocaine money laundering scheme of all time."

Freddie Mercury and Mary Austin | How did Freddie meet Mary?

Freddie Mercury and Mary Austin | How did Freddie meet Mary?

Mary Austin and Freddie Mercury met in 1969 when she was 19, and he was 24. Their life-long relationship proved to be one of a kind. Mary grew up in a struggling working-class household in West London, raised by two deaf parents. She dropped out of school when she was 15 and started working various jobs to support herself. Mary Austin pictured in London in January 1970. Mary Austin would go on to become the girlfriend of Freddie Mercury, lead singer with rock group Queen. At the time the two met, Mary was working in a fashion boutique and Freddie had recently graduated from art college. They quickly fell in love and started living together in a cramped flat. What would become one of the greatest bands, Queen was barely in its beginnings. However, Queen’s popularity flourished in 1970, and so did Freddie’s income. During the first few years of the band, while Freddie was experimenting with outrageous clothes and was theatrically strutting, with Mary by his side, nobody questioned his sexuality. In 1973, he dedicated the song Love of My Life to her. Freddie’s mom, Mrs. Bulsara, recalled: “She was lovely and used to come to us for meals. I used to wish they had got married and had a normal life with children.” In a 2013 interview for the Daily Mail, Mary evoked her memories of one Christmas Day when she was 23 and Freddie gave her a big box as a gift: “Inside was another box, then another and so it went on. It was like one of his playful games. Eventually, I found a lovely jade ring inside the last small box.” She asked Freddie on which hand should she place it and he replied the left. But they never married. Although they were together for seven years, in 1976, Freddie finally confessed his infidelities to Mary, revealing himself as a bisexual, to which she replied: “No Freddie, I don’t think you are bisexual. I think you are gay.” The two separated and Mary moved into a nearby flat, purchased for her by Mercury’s music-publishing company. They ended their physical relationship but remained incredibly close, frequently visiting each other. Freddie once said: “All my lovers asked me why they couldn’t replace Mary, but it’s simply impossible. The only friend I’ve got is Mary, and I don’t want anybody else. To me, she was my common-law wife. To me, it was a marriage…We believe in each other. That’s enough for me. I couldn’t fall in love with a man the same way as I have with Mary.” Mary had two sons with painter Piers Cameron. Freddie was the godfather of the firstborn while the second was born shortly after his death. In 1998 she married businessman Nick Holford but the marriage ended in divorce after five years. Although she made her own path, Mary Austin remained part of the band’s extended circle. During the 1980s, she often toured with Queen, working as a secretary for their publishing business. When Freddie told Mary the terrible news of being HIV-positive, heartbroken, she devoted herself to his care. Aware of his impending death, Freddie wanted to make sure that Mary would be financially secure. He claimed that he owed her a lot as she stuck by him through thick and thin, and after his death in 1991, in accordance with Freddie’s will, Mary inherited the better part of his wealth – more than $10 million plus his 28-room Georgian palace in Kensington, London. His mother reportedly approved of his decision, stating that Mary was like family to her. Mark Blake, Mercury’s biographer and author of the book Is This the Real Life?: The Untold Story of Freddie Mercury and Queen, says: “She got the house and a share of the publishing. He effectively left a lot to her as if he was leaving it to his widow. Mary was probably good at keeping him grounded. She had been there before the money, before the fame and she was there at the end.” The interior of Freddie’s mansion was made by Mary herself. She designed it for him, choosing the Louis XV furniture. To this day, most of the interior design remains just as Freddie liked it. In the following years, Mary launched a foundation to Mercury’s memory, the Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charity organization that fights HIV and AIDS worldwide. Aged 67, Austin lives a reclusive life behind the high spiked walls of Mercury’s palace, where fans still make regular pilgrimages. #FreddieMercury #MaryAustin #Mercury
