Larghetto (1:51:36) Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27 January 1756 – 5 December 1791) was a prolific and influential composer of the classical era. Born in Salzburg, Mozart showed prodigious ability from his earliest childhood. Already competent on keyboard and violin, he composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty. Mozart was engaged as a musician at the Salzburg court, but grew restless and traveled in search of a better position. While visiting Vienna in 1781, he was dismissed from his Salzburg position. He chose to stay in the capital, where he achieved fame but little financial security. During his final years in Vienna, he composed many of his best-known symphonies, concertos, and operas, and portions of the Requiem, which was largely unfinished at the time of his early death at the age of 35. The circumstances of his early death have been much mythologized. He composed more than 600 works, many acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, concertante, chamber, operatic, and choral music. He is among the most enduringly popular of classical composers, and his influence is profound on subsequent Western art music. Ludwig van Beethoven composed his own early works in the shadow of Mozart, and Joseph Haydn wrote: "posterity will not see such a talent again in 100 years". Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Concerto No.3 in C Minor, Op. 37 (part 1) - Enzo

Part 2 (& CAdenza) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOt6EAAeTNE First time Enzo played with orchestra and he seemed happy about the experience. The Manila Symphony Orchestra is "young" with a good number of students and new graduates. The conductor, Jeffrey Solares was so considerate, guiding Enzo in many aspects as he knew Enzo was a bit anxious. Although they had a total of 2 sessions, 2 hours each, Enzo and the MSO seemed to have blended well. We will try to post the REST of the concerto within the next few days. Thank you for listening, watching and rating.

He composed over 500 waltzes, polkas, quadrilles, and other types of dance music, as well as several operettas and a ballet. In his lifetime, he was known as "The Waltz King", and was largely then responsible for the popularity of the waltz in Vienna during the 19th century. Strauss was admired by other prominent composers: Richard Wagner once admitted that he liked the waltz "Wein, Weib und Gesang" Op. 333. Johannes Brahms was a personal friend of Strauss; the latter dedicated his waltz "Be Embraced, You Millions!", Op. 443, to him. Rachmaninoff Symphony no.2 op.27, 3rd Movement HD

Rachmaninoff Symphony no.2 op.27, 3rd Movement HD

Rachmaninoff Symphony no.2 op.27, 3rd Movement HD Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Amsterdam, wonderfully conducted by Eivind Gullberg Jensen. Solo clarinettist: Arjan Woudenberg. I can't get through this one without sheer amazement at its beauty and richness, even to the point of getting all misty-eyed. Even now, as I write these words, and play the track in the background, I feel the old "shivers down the spine", a smile on my face, and the beginnings of tears. To me, this piece is about Love, pure and simple. Eivind Jensen's face shows the passion and love embodied within this work; here, he is a conduit of something wonderful, magical, even sublime. My God, how I love this work, and I thank Avro/Radio 4 for allowing me the chance to edit this video, and to post this on You Tube. Just the clarinet part alone! Look at Eivind Jensen's face as he guides this massive orchestra through this work - the man radiates the passion and love within this music. Some early Greek philosophers came up with something called "The Doctrine of Ethos". It was a belief proclaiming that music itself directly influenced a person's mind, body, and soul - but that the pathway to this was only through the heart. Therefore, it was sacred and divine - after all, how could a mere combination of notes and sound ever denote emotion or feeling? Music played or sung from the heart is immediately felt and heard. Even a humble street musician may play so very well that you are stunned, brought to tears, and gladly give them your money. A favorite song that you grew up with can bring back memories, so very clearly, of where you were, of what you were doing, of who you were with. Memories you thought were long gone, suddenly re-appear after just hearing a few notes of a favorite piece. How can that be? The early Greeks, and later on the Christians, understood this - music itself is a divine gift, something special given to us directly from God. This piece is for me such a divine gift. -Rob Harrah, February 2011 p.s. - there is a story (perhaps apocryphal) that the beautiful melody line in this piece began as a piano piece that Rachmaninoff wrote, played and sung for his beloved wife. There were words to the melody line that the clarinet plays. Sigh. I can only wonder what the words were. It is, after all, a love song. How sweet is that?

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (FULL)

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (FULL)

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (FULL) - Piano Sonata No. 14 http://www.facebook.com/9Beethoven https://twitter.com/YtAndrearomano6 The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C♯ minor "Quasi una fantasia", op. 27, No. 2, by Ludwig van Beethoven The sonata has three movements: 1 mvt: Adagio sostenuto. 2 mvt: Allegretto (click to go at 6:00 min). 3 mvt: Presto agitato (click to go at 8:05 min). Adagio sostenuto The first movement, in C♯ minor, is written in an approximate truncated sonata form. The movement opens with an octave in the left hand and a triplet figuration in the right. A melody that Hector Berlioz called a "lamentation", mostly by the right hand, is played against an accompanying ostinato triplet rhythm, simultaneously played by the right hand. The movement is played pianissimo or "very quietly", and the loudest it gets is mezzo forte or "moderately loud". The adagio sostenuto has made a powerful impression on many listeners; for instance, Berlioz said of it that it "is one of those poems that human language does not know how to qualify. The work was very popular in Beethoven's day, to the point of exasperating the composer himself, who remarked to Carl Czerny, "Surely I've written better things. Allegretto The second movement is a relatively conventional scherzo and trio, a moment of relative calm written in D-flat major, the enharmonic equivalent of C♯ major, the more easily-notated parallel major of C♯ minor. Franz Liszt described the second movement as "a flower between two chasms."[citation needed] The slight majority of the movement is in piano, but a handful of sforzandos and forte-pianos helps to maintain the movement's cheerful disposition. Presto agitato The stormy final movement (C♯ minor), in sonata form, is the weightiest of the three, reflecting an experiment of Beethoven's (also carried out in the companion sonata, Opus 27, No. 1 and later on in Opus 101) placement of the most important movement of the sonata last. The writing has many fast arpeggios and strongly accented notes, and an effective performance demands lively and skillful playing. It is thought that the C-sharp minor sonata, particularly the third movement, was the inspiration for Frédéric Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu, which manifests the key relationships of the sonata's three movements. Of the final movement, Charles Rosen has written "it is the most unbridled in its representation of emotion. Even today, two hundred years later, its ferocity is astonishing. Beethoven's heavy use of sforzando notes, together with just a few strategically located fortissimo passages, creates the sense of a very powerful sound in spite of the predominance of piano markings throughout. Within this turbulent sonata-allegro, there are two main themes, with a variety of variation techniques utilized. Beethoven's pedal mark See also: Piano history and musical performance, Mute (music), and Piano pedals#Beethoven and pedals At the opening of the work, Beethoven included a written direction that the sustain pedal should be depressed for the entire duration of the first movement. The Italian reads: "Si deve suonare tutto questo pezzo delicatissimamente e senza sordino". ("One must play this whole piece [meaning "movement"] very delicately and without dampers.") The modern piano has a much longer sustain time than the instruments of Beethoven's day, leaving for a rather blurry and dissonant tone. One option for dealing with this problem is to perform the work on a restored or replicated piano of the kind Beethoven knew. Proponents of historically informed performance using such pianos have found it feasible to perform the work respecting Beethoven's original direction.

Beethoven choral fantasy - conclusion

Beethoven choral fantasy - conclusion

The finale of Beethoven's Choral Fantasy for choir, orchestra and piano. This piece had its premiere at a great concert (one of the biggest in history) in Vienna 22 december 1808, where Beethoven presented many new pieces of his, such as Symphony No. 6, "Ah Perfido", "Gloria" (from his C major mass), Piano concerto in G major (with Beethoven as soloist), Symphony No. 5, "Sanctus" (from his C major mass), Fantasy for piano (with Beethoven as soloist) and as the big finale - this Choral Fantasy! The pieces were performed in the order I wrote them. This concert made Beethoven bigger than he'd ever been and saved his honour. He had been humiliated ever since the whole fiasco with "Fidelio" (which the audience did not like) but was now considered as one of the greatest composers ever.
